"Knitting and crocheting has been my hobby since childhood. I started making stuffed toys for children hospitals several years ago. It has become a passion, I absolutely love making them. My “Critters” are a nice cuddly, hug-gable, lovable size for the children. And what’s truly amazing is how much pure pleasure a person can receive by creating them."
My patterns are written so that they are easy to follow, and include photos and instructions to help you. If you haven’t tried making a toy using the knitting in the round method, give it a try, your in for a very pleasant surprise! If you have a question contact me at bjfromnv@gmail.com

More rain today……sent some critters packing!

travelerss 4-30-12

No outside pictures today……………seven critters shown here, still had room in the box so I added 2 more. It really makes my day when I ship them out. But being just an over grown kid myself, part of me will miss them. But I don’t make them for myself! I just hope and pray they can make a sick child feel better!

This is a test to see if you can tell which ones I added…did not have too much time for taking pictures. Could have done a better job…………anyway……LOL….have fun………………:)

Winsome Wardell the White Wabbit

How do you like that name? Wardell is a man we met at Home Depot. He made such a fantastic impression on myself and my husband, I put his name on this wabbit. Funny how you can meet someone like that.

winner wardell

I guess you can see Wardell is a white rabbit? About 11 inches setting and 17 inches when standing. He is a quick knit and I think he came out pretty cute!

The second one I used  a new Red Heart yarn called “LOVE” I love Red Heart yarn anyway, but this really does have a wonderful soft texture. Easy to work with, like all Red Heart Yarns. Do you think they will give me a discount if I keep bragging on them? Anyway, I just wanted to stop in and show you these critters.

We had oodles of rain yesterday, and it was supposed to be a 50% chance of more today, but it didn’t work out. But it sure did cool down, I had shorts on earlier and now have sweats! I want to quote something from the “Daily MInd.” It helped me….maybe it will help you.

Over the course of your life you will encounter many disappointments. Sometimes it will be a loved one who let’s you down. Sometimes it will be a work deal or a business meeting that doesn’t go as planned. Other times it will seem as if the whole universe is kicking you in the head just because it can.

If you want to live a happy and fulfilled life you need to learn how to deal with life’s disappointments. The next time you feel disappointed by someone make sure you check to see whether your reaction is justified. Did the person try their best? Did they really mean to hurt you? Is your frustration really necessary? Most of the times the answer is a resounding “no”.

Buddha and the bright side of disappointment
Let’s look at a concrete example from the life of Buddha Shakyamuni. After the Prince set off to begin his quest for enlightenment he spent several years living as a hardcore yogi. During these years the Buddha spent most of his time fasting and sitting in one place without moving.

One day, however, the Price realized that this extreme path was not going to bare any fruit and so he gave up that life in search of something more effective. He had spent years mastering a style of meditation that was not going to work.

Now most of us would view this as “wasted time”. We would curse the fact that we spent all those years and didn’t achieve anything. But the Prince moved on to new things. He knew that the time wasn’t wasted because without that work he would never have progressed to the next stage. Without it he would never have become the great man that has changed the lives of hundreds of millions throughout history.

Using disappointment to grow
We need to be more like the Buddha. We need to see disappointment as one step in a series of many that is leading to bigger and better things. If you choose to dwell on disappointment and curse the day that it happened you are going to get stuck. The wise use it as a catalyst for change.

Let no failure, disappointments, death or despair bow down your head. When you experience any of these, take a rest, reflect and find a way around them. Draw strength from your pain and pursue your dreams until you reach glory and happiness.

Spring Flinging……..what is that?

Just dropping in to introduce my latest pattern………..His name is Kosmo Kitty Kat.

morning light

I was out early this morning to take a few shots of him, I love the soft morning light. And today is one of those hazy days. He is so photogenic, and pose able. He is a project that will surprise you, because he is really quite simple to make. But his personality will come out and shock you. That is my goal with all my patterns. I want you to try one of my patterns, and even when you are thinking this is such a pain in the arse. You keep going, and before you know it you have created a critter! And I hope he makes you smile. A totally fun project. Now I still have a couple of patterns needing attention. So now my dilemma is which one do I start next? Still setting in my pj’s, feel like I’m trying to come down with something. But I think the ole flu shot is keeping it from becoming full blown. It always amazes me how you can be just fine one minute and an hour later, be sicker than a dog.

We had a great trip down to Nevada! So nice to see my friends and family, but there is never enough time when you just go down for a couple of days. I would like to have seen my cousin in Gardnerville, but there just was not enough time. Had terrible wind on Saturday, and I found out that same day a micro burst came through and took down a couple of buildings right behind our place. Scary stuff.

This is Cam Cat, knit with camouflage colors, she is the same height  as Cosmo just the way the pic came out. Can you see the color possibilities?

Well I’m gonna get busy. Hope all is well with you. Later. Have fun!
