"Knitting and crocheting has been my hobby since childhood. I started making stuffed toys for children hospitals several years ago. It has become a passion, I absolutely love making them. My “Critters” are a nice cuddly, hug-gable, lovable size for the children. And what’s truly amazing is how much pure pleasure a person can receive by creating them."
My patterns are written so that they are easy to follow, and include photos and instructions to help you. If you haven’t tried making a toy using the knitting in the round method, give it a try, your in for a very pleasant surprise! If you have a question contact me at bjfromnv@gmail.com

Cheshire Charlie’s Caftan aka blanket buddy

Well how’s it going for you today? Went for a walk with my buddy. Gosh, she is one super person. Friends are a precious commodity in this world. So I appreciate the ones I have, and the older you get and the more you move around……………..well, do I need to spell it out for you? :)

The Cheshire Cat is a beloved character depicted in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. One of his distinguishing features is that from time to time he disappears, the last thing to be seen being his grin.

This is Cheshire Charlie……………knit completely in the round, he has a pretty swirl pattern and a hint of a ruffle on his bottom. Gee, do you think I like bright colors or what? I have a lime green color I can’t wait to work up. Anyway, getting things together for our trip to the desert.

So I hope you are enjoying spring wherever you might be. Need to get off this puter and get some knitting done. Have fun…………….:)

Howdee Do! You got rain?

Greetings from the big burg of Weiser, Idaho. It be a rainy kind of day. The soil here is so full of worms, you would not believe. When I took the pup out this am, the worms were so big they looked like night crawlers. It was raining pretty good and they always try to escape by coming into the cabana. Not a good idea, so I had to rescue some of the bigger ones! Who’s weird. ROFL!

Got a lot going on right now. Just finished two new patterns and I have a third one I need to complete. We are taking a little trip Thursday, so I think the third pattern will have to wait til I get back. I re-opened my Etsy shop. I only have a few patterns in there. I will have to close it before we go.

I got some yarn at the local yarn store and I can’t wait to use it. Talk about bright. The hot pink is hard enough to photograph, but this color should be really interesting. Notice I’m not telling you, trying to keep you in suspense? Think I could use a couple more hours of sleep, but when you wake up and your mind starts working on patterns. You might as well get up, because you aren’t going back to sleep. And with this ridiculous Daylight Savings Time, I never know or care what time it is. And for a retired hairdresser, that’s a mouthful.

Well let me introduce you to “Morpheus” Mutt’s Matt aka blanket buddy. It all started because I wanted to make a present for a new arrival in the family. Emilio Martin Hernandez is his name. That’s who I’m going to go see this week! So one thing just led to another.

pretty

I wanted something soft that he could hold onto and drag around and sleep with. You always hope they will love what you give them, but you never know. My Mom said I would play with the simplest things sometimes, like boxes and paper bags? ROFL……….but they aren’t cuddly. Anyway…………….I hope you are having a good day. I was at the grocery store the other day, and heard a worker comment that she was “living the dream” and she was serious. And you know what? So am I, have fun………:)

How’s it going today? Did you get it all done?

pretty girlJust dropping in……..have wanted to add an e-mail I got a couple of days ago………..while I was reading it, I found myself laughing out loud which is pretty unusual for me……..anyway…here it is:

WHY MEN ARE NEVER DEPRESSED:
Men Are Just Happier People --
What do you expect from such simple creatures?
Your last name stays put.
The garage is all yours.
Wedding plans take care of themselves.
Chocolate is just another snack...
You can be President.
You can never be pregnant.
You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park.
You can wear NO shirt to a water park.
Car mechanics tell you the truth.
The world is your urinal.
You never have to drive to another gas station restroom because this one is just too icky.
You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt.
Same work, more pay.
Wrinkles add character.
Wedding dress $5000. Tux rental-$100.
People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them.
New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet.
One mood all the time.
Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat.
You know stuff about tanks.
A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase.
You can open all your own jars.
You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness.
If someone forgets to invite you,
He or she can still be your friend.
Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack.
Three pairs of shoes are more than enough..
You almost never have strap problems in public.
You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes..
Everything on your face stays its original color.
The same hairstyle lasts for years, even decades.
You only have to shave your face and neck.
You can play with toys all your life.
One wallet and one pair of shoes -- one color for all seasons.
You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look.
You can 'do' your nails with a pocket knife.
You have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache.
You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives
On December 24 in 25 minutes.

I hope you enjoyed that as much as I did. On the knitting front, I have been working on updating a pattern all afternoon. The original pattern called for fur type yarn to be worked with the main yarn, but it seems that people don’t want to fool with the fur. Too bad, because it sure adds some zip to a plain pattern. Anyway, I have looked at two tone  ears and other than sewing them together, I don’t like the way the join looks. So the next best thing was the patterned ear, which I think looks pretty snazzy. I always like variations, so I just printed up the different ear and added it my original Wendy pattern. Anyway, I gotter done………………hope you did too! Have fun…………..:)

What’s up with you?

Just a few lines. Thought about writing a few lines this morning as I was making up my mind to get out of bed. You know how that is, laying there thinking about what projects you are going to tackle on a particular day. Then I started thinking about a song I have on my MP3 player. Buffy Saint Marie is the singer. I have several songs on there that inspire me. hawk head

It’s called “Up where we belong”

Who knows what tomorrow brings
In a world, few hearts survive
All I know is the way I feel
When it's real, I keep it alive
The road is long, there are mountains in our way
But we climb a step every day
Love lift us up where we belong
Where the eagles cry on a mountain high
Love lift us up where we belong
Far from the world we know, up where the clear winds blow
Some hang on to "used to be"
Live their lives, looking behind
All we have is here and now
All our life, out there to find
The road is long, there are mountains in our way,
But we climb them a step every day
Love lift us up where we belong
Where the eagles cry on a mountain high
Love lift us up where we belong
Far from the world we know, up where the clear winds blow
Time goes by
No time to cry
Life's you and I
Alive, today
Love lift us up where we belong
Where the eagles cry on a mountain high
Love lift us up where we belong
Far from the world we know, up where the clear winds blow
